The Role – what will I be doing?
In this role you will be assisting in the development, design and management of the control systems software with full involvement through the product life cycle from initial sales/requirements to after services support.
The software team is very much a supplier to the rest of the business to help the company to push boundaries in technology and meet customer requirements and new ways of working.
You will be responsible for developing, testing and implementation of new software to fulfil the functional specification. Alongside this you will be producing design documentation including functional design, software, and test documentations.
You may be required to support customers offshore and abroad as part of the system development.
What skills and qualifications do I need?
We are looking for someone with a degree in the relevant subject or with strong experience in software programming including scripting (if/case statements) with competency in any of the following areas to the cross over:
- PLC
- SCADA
- Application software design
Experience in machine control/automation and communication networks (ethernet, RS232, RS485) Full training on our products will be provided within the role.
A strong team player who is customer focused with excellent attention to detail and flexibility to multi-task and prioritise. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated who enjoys the technical aspects of engineering and is always looking for continuous improvement with a willingness to learn.
Experience in the following is desirable but not essential:
- Understanding hydraulic schematics
- Understanding electrical schematics
- Understanding of electrical standards
- Rockwell PLC experience
- Intouch SCADA experience
- Jmobile (EXOR) experience
