Meet Robbie, our 22-year-old Mechanical Apprentice from Whitley Bay.
Here at SMD, Robbie’s job involves assembling mechanical and hydraulic parts and refurbishing equipment for SMD Services. Robbie studied Ancient History at the University of Leicester, looking for a change, he found SMD through Tyne North Training!
Beyond his mechanical work, Robbie loves his free dinners here at SMD, it’s a daily treat that brightens his workday. Robbie adds, “I think an apprenticeship is a very good way to further your education and gain qualifications while earning! I think apprenticeships are great for practical knowledge and transferable skills, while university provides problem-solving abilities and a smoother transition into working life.”
