I am a Senior Buyer for SMD. I manage the electrical commodity within the business and work within a team of 6 people. I have been with the business since May 2022.
International Women’s Days a focal point on women’s rights. Its supports recognising the achievements of women not just in the workplace but in all areas. It highlights and champions the rights of women everywhere.
From my short time at SMD, I have seen that SMD as an organisation understands the needs and supports women in the workplace, not only on a personal level, but also in their professional advancement.

Previous workplace experience was very male dominated, and I felt very intimated at certain times. SMD has a different culture altogether and a more pleasant place to work
My advice would be to give it a go….. it is not what it seems, and my moto in life is jump in head first. What scares you is more than likely the thing which will make you!
