A High-Powered Free-Swimming Jet Trencher

HIGH POWERED FREE-SWIMMING JET TRENCHER

The Q‐Trencher 1600 is a high powered free‐swimming jet trencher, with optional track drive for enhanced burial capability and optional tracked skids for bespoke tool deployment. With 1.2MW of total power, the trencher delivers 800kW of variable high pressure jetting power for trenching and up to 300kW of LP water jetting for trench backwash, eduction or trench collapse.

The complete system spread sets a new standard in severe weather deployment operation, up to sea state 6 as standard and able to deploy the ROV in buoyant or heavy mode up to 18Te, allowing deployment of chain cutters and drill systems.

The standard QTrencher 1600 comes with a tracked jetting module, suitable for use in softer grounds; this module creates 800kW of jetting power at 10 to 15bar to create a trench up to 3m deep. This module also comes with an optimised rear 300kW jetting depressor to guide the cable into the bottom of the trench and clear any side wall collapse.

A tracked chain cutter module can be used in harder ground conditions; the chain cutter has 350kW of power and can create a trench up to 2.3m deep. An enclosed 4m minimum bend radius cable path and depressor ensures the safe placement of the cable to the bottom of the trench. This module also has an additional 400kW cutter boom jetting, for trenching in complex seabeds.
