The Quantum ROV is the most powerful of SMD’s signature ROV systems. Specially designed for heavy duty construction and subsea tool interface, it delivers industry-leading payload, lifting capacity, thrust and tooling power.
Created with flexibility in mind, Quantum has a 250hp central HPU which supplies two independent hydraulic circuits. Whilst the primary circuit provides power to the propulsion and ensures good in-current performance, the second is isolated and capable of running all types of work class ROV tools and skid systems.
The vehicle’s frame offers an abundance of free space in which tools and instruments can be mounted. It also comes fitted with SMD’s proven and reliable Curvetech® components, which use slide-out runners and twist/release mechanisms to facilitate ease of maintenance and a fast change out. Quantum is also equipped with SMD’s automated dynamic positioning system, DVECSII – another example of how our pioneering engineers have prioritised a user-friendly design at every level.
The Quantum ROV places you in control, quickly and efficiently connecting with HD cameras and serial and ethernet instruments. Through its advanced SCADA displays, both pilot and co-pilot are provided with graphical feedback, comprehensive real time diagnostics, data logging and remote connectivity.
