SMD offer a comprehensive range of training courses which can be delivered on-site at client locations, at our regional offices in Singapore and Houston and at our purpose built training facility at Wallsend in the UK. All courses are designed around the needs of the client. To maximise learning all trainees receive complete hard copy and electronic copies of course documentation for future reference.
The purpose built training facility located at our Wallsend site is dedicated to the development of skills required for effective maintenance and operation of SMD subsea vehicle systems. The facility comprises a large classroom with state of the art training aids and SMD developed Dri ROV simulator. The latter simulates as closely as possible the operation of SMD Work class ROV systems and also the control van environment. Training is designed and delivered by SMD’s dedicated Customer Training team who have extensive experience of the demands on commercial ROV pilots and technicians. SMD has negotiated highly preferential hotel and local transportation rates including airport pickup and drop off and daily transport to and from SMD and can offer management all local accommodation and transportation requirements. - QNX and PLC based surface Control system hardware to enable both basic and advanced level training on SMD ROV control systems.
- Equipment sub-assemblies for maintenance training including thrusters, intelligent valve packs etc.
- PC’s with internet access and WI-FI connectivity.
